SEC schedule release a reminder of what game isn't happening for Florida Basketball
Florida Basketball is coming off a solid year that culminated in an appearance in the SEC conference title game and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. With better fortune from the ref against Colorado, Todd Golden and crew could have made a deeper run in the tournament to help springboard them into the 2024/25 campaign.
While the season itself is still a couple of months away, the SEC formally released the conference schedule, which reminded us that a couple of traditional matchups won't be taking place in 2025.
Florida Basketball: Who Are We? The Wildcats!
The conference had previously released who teams would be playing at home and who they would be playing on the road. Their release today laid out when each game would be taking place with one caveat: midweek games will be flexed depending on TV desirability.

Now, if you are looking at this slate of games and thinking, "Hey, wait a second. When is the home game against Kentucky?" I'm afraid I've got some bad news.
Under the new scheduling format, teams have three opponents they will play in a home and home while the rest will only be played once. Florida will double up with Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina. They will play Kentucky on the road to open SEC play with no return trip to Gainesville.
This schedule has some good things, including Arkansas, Texas, Georgia, Auburn, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss being home games on a Saturday.
Florida will open their season on November 4 against USF in Jacksonville.
