Priority recruiting target for Florida Football commits to Oregon

The world of recruiting is always filled with twists and turns and Florida Football is no stranger to the ups and downs of recruiting season.

One week after one of their priority targets took an official visit to Gainesville, Florida will be back to drawing board.

Florida Football: Playing For Wins

Ziyare Addison is a four-star offensive lineman out of the Tampa area (Riverview). He took an official visit with the Gators last week, but had more visits lined up to Oregon, Penn State, and FSU. From the outside it looked like FSU was in the lead for his services, but no formal prediction from any of the major services had been made.

Somewhat unexpectedly today, Addison announced that he would be committing to the Ducks.

We liked Addison as a player and when we profiled him in April we said:

"On film he definitely checks all the boxes of a higher end four-star as he has the power to put anyone on their back while also having and explosion off the line to pull around and come across the line as well as anyone.

His power feels effortless and his sizes matches up with all the other top prospects in the class of 2025. He isn't afraid to use his size either and is always seeking and scanning for someone to knock down."

The Gators still have prospects like Solomon Thomas and Tavaris Dice they are working on trying to flip, but as it stands now Florida has no offensive linemen committed for the class of 2025. As we also saw with Jason Zandamela, it is possible Addison goes to Oregon, gets homesick, and wants to return home, giving Florida a chance to cycle back around.

But for now, the Gators have missed out on Addison and will have to turn their attention to other prospects.
