The rosters for the Florida Football Orange and Blue game were announced yesterday. As has been the case with Billy Napier, he opted to split the squad with the first team offense and defense on separate squads. The Orange Team will feature the first team defense and second team offense while the Blue Team will have the inverse.

With that in mind here are our observations for each position group.

Quarterbacks

Orange Team:
DJ Lagway

Clay Millen*

Paul Kessler

Blue Team:
Graham Mertz

Clay Millen*

Aidan Warner

Parker Leise

Not too much here is suprising. Mertz as expected will lead the first team offense while Lagway takes the reigns for the second team offense. This is in contrast from last season when Mertz crossed over with both squads alongside Jack Miller.

Clay Millen, the transfer from Colorado State, is expected to be the third string QB this season and he will split snaps between both teams.

Offensive Line

Orange Team:
Caden Jones

Roderick Kearney

Bryce Lovett

Bryan Rosenberg

Riley Simonds

Fletcher Westphal

Christian Williams

Mike Williams

Mark Pitts*

Hayden Clem

Blue Team:
Brandon Crenshaw-Dixon

Damieon George

Knijeah Harris

Devon Manuel

Mark Pitts*

Noel Portnjagin

Jake Slaughter

Chase Stevens

Austin Barber

Kamryn Waites

As Florida looks to reshape its offensive line, both of the transfer tackles the Gators grabbed out of the portal, Crenshaw-Dixon and Manuel, will be featured on the Blue Team.

The bulk of the eyeballs on this unit will probably be looking at Harris and George, the latter of which has moved to guard after playing tackle all last season and the former of which is looking to step up into a larger role.

Don't sleep on Jones and Kearney on the Orange Team, both four-star prospects from the 2023 class who would presumably be the next man up if injuries hit the line this season.
