Wyatt Langford

The chosen one has been fast tracked to the MLB. After helping get Florida within one game of winning the College World Series in 2023, Langford was drafted fifth overall by the Texas Rangers in the 2023 MLB Draft.

Given that Texas are the defending World Series champs, the impetus to get Langford to the big club wasn't as urgent as some other clubs might have, but Langford tore up the minor league circuit last season and was unstoppable during the Spring Training circuit that Texas had to start Langford on the main roster.

AJ Puk

Puk had three productive years in Gainesville, posting a career ERA of 3.39. he was credited with 254 strikeouts in 191 innings of work as a Gator. He went 9-4 in 2015 and was drafted by Oakland with the sixth overall pick in 2016.

Unfortunately for Puk, injuries have derailed his momentum. He underwent Tommy John surgery in 2018, and while he made his MLB debut in 2019, he had shoulder surgery in 2020.

Puke does have a career ERA of 3.72 and was traded in the 2023 offseason to Miami, where he made 58 appearances last season.
