Heading into the 2024 season, Billy Napier was already on a hot seat after leading the Gators to an 11-14 record over his first two years. Now, Florida sits at 1-2 to start the year and Napier's seat may actually be on fire.

Despite rumors flying from left and right about Board of Trustees meetings, possible replacements, and the future of Napier's career in Gainesville, the Florida head coach is adamant that he expects to remain in his position for at least another year.

Following Florida's loss to unranked Texas A&M in Week 3, Napier shared that zero discussions about his employment status have taken place and he thinks it's very possible he will be with the Gators in 2025.

The rumor mill started churning as soon as the Texas A&M Aggies went up 20-0 by halftime on Saturday. The biggest rumor to come out, which has since been disputed, was that Florida had called a Board of Trustees meeting for Sunday morning to discuss Napier's position.

While meetings have yet to take place, it is almost undeniable that Napier's time with the Gators is on its last leg. Not only has Florida already lost two games this season, but the Gators have also struggled to put together any semblance of an offensive scheme, only scoring 44 points through three games.
