Since departing Florida Baseball, Wyatt Langford has been as fast tracked to the big leagues as any prospect in MLB history. Langford has been a bit up and down as he adjusts to the MLB pitching, but he has been able to hold his own to justify a regular spot in the line up.

And this weekend against Kansas City, Langford achieved a milestone many can only dream of.

Florida Baseball: Grand Slam Breakfast

Following a hit less performance against the New York Mets on June 17, Langofrd has seen his batting average jump almost 20 points to .255 after racking up eight hits over a six game span.

Jump starting this run was Langford's second career home run on June 18. Given that his first career home run was an inside the park homer, this was the first time as a big leaguer Langford had launched one over the fence.

He hasn't slowed down and yesterday against Kansas City he was the talk of all MLB circles as he capped off the Rangers victory with his first carer grand slam.

Langford is still trailing behind guys like Luis Gil and Wilyer Abreu for American League Rookie of the Year, but he is quickly acending to be part of the conversation. Langford has a .255 batting average, .313 on base percentage and a .685 OPS.

It's a far cry from the numbers he put up while with the Gators, but in the month of June alone he has a .313 batting average with 17 RBIs in 19 games played.

The Rangers, who are the defending World Series champions, are 36-40 on the season and are five games back of the final wild card spot. But if Langford can continue his hot ways, he might just be able to help drag Texas back into the postseason.
