Florida Softball opened the Bubly Invitational in dominating fashion, defeating both Georgia Southern and Loyola-Chicago in run-rule victories.

Florida vs. Georgia Southern:

The Gators hopped into gear early and didn't let up. Jocelyn Erickson led the offensive charge with three RBIs, including a first-inning sacrifice fly and a fourth-inning home run. Skylar Wallace also had three RBIs. Keagan Rothrock earned the complete-game shutout for Florida, striking out eight Eagles.

Florida vs. Loyola-Chicago:

Another strong offensive performance propelled the Gators past Loyola-Chicago. Florida scored five runs in the first inning and extended their lead in each subsequent inning. Erickson continued her hot streak with five RBIs, while Mia Williams added two RBIs of her own. Ava Brown picked up the win in the circle, striking out five Ramblers.

What's Next?

After struggling to find their bats the first two games of the season, Florida has scored at least eight runs in their last seven games. Granted, these last seven games haven't been against a Power Five opponent and the Gators won't see a Power Five team until March 1 when they take on UCLA.

Florida will continue on with the Bubly Invitational today against Charleston Southern and Georgia Southern. The schedule has been modified due to incoming rain and the first pitch will be at 10:15 AM.
