Florida's Ben Hill Griffin Stadium gets little love in ESPN football stadium ranking

The Swamp was ranked 20th in the country, which is comically low

Florida Football hasn't been great these past three season. The Gators have had losing records in 2021, 2022, and 2023 and there isn't much complaint about any poll that wants to put the Gators as a football team towards the bottom.

But the home of the Gators, Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, is still one of the best venues in college football. In a recent list put out by ESPN though, The Swamp get little love.

Florida Football: This Is... The Swamp

ESPN put out a lit of the Top 25 College Football Stadiums and all we have to say is who voted on this thing? Literally the first line in the article is "The Swamp. The Big House. The Granddaddy of Them All." and yet The Swamp was ranked 20th in the country.

So we are going to go through the other 19 stadiums deemed better than The Swamp to see who should and should not be ahead of Florida.

1. Tiger Stadium, LSU Tigers - It's fair enough. Death Valley is a behemoth of a stadium and night games in Baton Rouge have their own special lore to them.

2. Rose Bowl, UCLA Bruins - Did we really just deem to Rose Bowl as the second best stadium in America? It is a one tier concrete bowl where the only redeeming quality is that is you happen to play a game at dusk you get a cool sunset.

3. Michigan Stadium, Michigan Wolverines - Like the Rose Bowl, The Big House is a one tier oval. It can pack 107,000 fans which is impressive in itself, but people will note that because of the design it doesn't get nearly as loud as 93,000 in The Swamp.

4. Notre Dame Stadium, Notre Dame Fighting Irish - Note to Scott Stricklin, apparently America loves bowls for a stadium. Again the problem with Notre Dame is the same problem with the Rose Bowl; the most iconic part of the stadium isn't even in the stadium (Touchdown Jesus).

5. Beaver Stadium, Penn State Nittany Lions - Similar to Michigan they can seat 106,000. And given it's location within Pennsylvania, Beaver Stadium pops out as an unmistakable landmark. Unlike Florida, they can actually pull off color coordination among the fans.
