Florida Football: With Micah Mazzccua gone, what might the offensive line be in 2024?

In a move that was anticipated from the Gators, it was reported by 247 Sports that Micah Mazzccua will be hitting the transfer portal. Where does this leave Florida's offensive line for 2024?

Right Tackle

  • Starter for 2023 - Damieon George
  • Potential for 2024 - Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson or Michael Tarquin*

Assuming George gets moved, whether it is inside to guard or off the line entirely, Florida needs to trot someone else out at right tackle if it hopes for better results in 2024.

The Gators picked up Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson out of the transfer portal earlier this month. The tackle out of San Diego State only surrendered nine pressures this past season.

But there is no guarantee his game will translate into the SEC and another name to keep an eye on is former Gator Michael Tarquin. Heading into the last offseason, many would have pegged Tarquin as one of the starting tackles for the 2023 season. He instead opted to transfer to USC but saw his playing time disappear in the second half of the season.

Tarquin is currently in the transfer portal and was immediately offered by Florida. On3 has Florida and Kentucky as the two front runners to land Tarquin. If he does come back to Florida, it would almost certainly be with a soft guarantee of a starting job in 2024.
