Left Guard

  • Starter for 2023 - Richie Leonard IV
  • Potential for 2024 - Knijeah Harris or Roderick Kearney or Kamryn Waites

Where Barber was just good enough to justify bringing him back, the same can't be said for Richie Leonard IV. The push in the run game wasn't good enough, nor was his protection in the passing game.

Florida does have some options to battle it out for the guard spot in 2024. Knijeah Harris bounced around in backup duty all season between left guard and right guard. He saw 172 snaps last season. 87 of those were a passing play and Harris only allowed one QB pressure on those 87 snaps.

Kearney is the former top 150 prospect that redshirted last season as a true freshman. While he played tackle in high school, the belief was that he was better suited to play guard at the college level.

Waites had to battle back after an off-season Achilles injury. The 216 snaps he took this season were all at tackle, but Waites did play guard during the 2022 season and started at right guard in the Las Vegas Bowl.
