Florida Football: Which transfer portal losses will hurt the Gators the most in 2024?
#5 - Jaydon Hill
After fighting through a torn ACL to get back onto the field in 2022, Jaydon Hill was a fully entrenched starter for 2023. And for the first half of 2023, Hill looked like he could be a star at the STAR position.
His play dropped off during the back half of the season, but he was still an SEC level defensive back on the field.
His tackling could have been better at times, but Florida doesn't benefit from having a guy that took 533 snaps in 2023 depart for Texas A&M.
#4 - Caleb Douglas
This one may seem weird to be so high given that Caleb Douglas got hurt against Kentucky and wasn't seen from the rest of the season. He leaves Florida with just 21 career catches and three touchdowns.
But we have him at number four on this list because take a peek at who Florida has coming back at wide receiver for next season. It's Tre Wilson, Kahleil Jackson, Marcus Burke, and a bunch of unproven guys.
It's not to say that guys like Andy Jean, Aidan Mizell, or transfer portal addition Chimere Dike can't get the job done, but Douglas always felt like he was on the verge of breaking out if Florida would just throw him the ball.
Douglas will be at Texas Tech in 2024.
