Florida Football is having to deal with their own injuries heading into Saturday's game against Texas A&M. The initial injury report for the Gators listed 16 players as either questionable or out, the most significant of which is Tre Wilson.

But per SEC rules, the injury report was updated again on Thursday, and surprisingly, Texas A&M put a key starter on the list as questionable.

Florida Football: Smoke Screen Or Not?

Starting QB Conner Weigman was added to the "availability report" on Thursday night as "questionable." Per the rules, this means he is 50/50 to play on Saturday against the Gators.

His inclusion on the report caught many off guard, considering he wasn't on the initial report on Wednesday, and there were no indications from their game against McNeese State that he had been injured or had anything wrong.

For most, the initial reaction is whether or not this is gamesmanship from the Aggies. Jeff Tarpley of GigEm247 hinted that Weigman has been in some discomfort and he doesn't believe this is just a gamesmanship ploy.

Weigman struggled against Notre Dame, going 12 for 30 for 100 yards. When put under pressure, he was just 2 for 11, but even when his pocket was clean, he barely cleared 50% completion.

If Weigman can't go, Marcel Reed would, in theory, be the next man up. Reed is a former fringe four-star prospect from the class of 2023 who rotated in for Weigman last week and was 5 for 11 passing for 71 yards.
