The streak for Florida Football is alive and well as the Gators continued their streak of being the only school in the SEC to have a player drafted in every single NFL Draft in the common draft era.

And the player to keep that streak going is a player whose name will live on in Gator lore for a very long time.

Florida Football: Superman

Ricky Pearsall was drafted to the 49ers with the 31st overall pick. Originally a member of Arizona State, Pearsall transferred to the Gators ahead of the 2023 season and leaves Gainesville after one of the most productive seasons a wide receiver has had for Florida in a long time.

Pearsall finished the 2024 campaign with 65 catches for 965 yards and four touchdowns. He finished just 35 yards short of being Florida's first 1,000 yard receiver in a single season since TaylorJacobs last did it in 2002.

His signature moment came against McNeese State, when he went viral for his one handed Superman grab.

His encore wasn't bad either, hauling in the game winning touchdown against South Carolina.

As his stock began to rise, people noted his top notch route running ability and knew has was athletic, but questions over whether or not he had NFL speed lingered as he went into the NFL Combine. Those concerns were laid to rest when Pearsall ran a 4.41 second 40-yard dash to go along with a 42-inch vertical jump.

In San Francisco, he will presumably be paired up with QB Brock Purdy and wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel. The 49ers felt the need to draft Pearsall after coming just short of the Super Bowl last season and presumably wanting an upgrade at slot receiver from Jauan Jennings.

Time will tell what Pearsall's impact in the NFL will be, but he feels like one of the safer options to draft as a slot receiver and should cause fits for opponents for years to come.
