The linebacker spot wound up being the strong suit for Florida Football in their class of 2024 as the Gators were able to secure Myles Graham and Aaron Chiles to come to Gainesville.

Jay Bateman is hoping he can convince another highly rated linebacker to join them as part of the class of 2025.

Florida Football: I'm Sorry Ms. Jackson

Ty Jackson is a linebacker listed at 6'2" and 205 pounds out of Loxahatchee, just outside of Palm Beach.

On3 and ESPN list him as the number one linebacker in the country, while Rivals has him as a mid-tier four-star and 247 has him as a three-star.

We would have to compare other top linebackers to see if we think he is number one, but he is far closer to the On3 and ESPN evaluation than the 247 one.

Jackson is a heat-seeking missile that makes ball carriers regret that the play was designed for them. When he wraps up and gets his hands on someone to make a tackle, he does so with violence, but also does so in a manner that still feels under control.

His athleticism is legit, as he also plays receiver and has solid hands. He also returns kickoffs for touchdowns.

That's a 205 pound linebacker returning kickoffs for touchdowns.

Jackson unofficially visited Florida back in November and has the Gators in his final 10. Georgia, Alabama, FSU, and Tennessee are among the other schools vying for his commitment.

We would expect for Florida to try and go after him hard given his talent, but whether or not Florida can win out remains to be seen.

For now, the Gators are still in the running and need to keep running after Jackson until they are told otherwise.
