Florida Football Recruiting: Trey McNutt can do it all
As Florida Football looks to gain some much needed momentum with its class of 2025 following the 60 day commitment of Peyton Joseph, the Gators have their eyes on a number of top tier prospects they hope can get the 2025 ball rolling.
And one of those prospects intends to be in Gainesville this weekend.
Florida Football: One Man Show
Trey McNutt is listed as an Athlete who projects to play safety at the next level. Listed at 6'0" and 180 pounds, McNutt is a high tier four-star by all the major services and coincidently is considered a five-star by the 247 and On3 composite rankings.
When we review someone listed as an athlete or a two-way player, it is clear which side of the ball that player will play in college. But with McNutt, if one didn't know he intends to play safety in college, one would look at his work as a wide receiver and go, "That's a four-star receiver."
Speed is his strength and when on offense he has the ability to run go routes right by guys or catch in space and accelerate away from a chasing herd. But he's not just a speed guy as he does have some double moves in his arsenal to break free as needed.
Almost anyone and everyone is after the Cleveland native, including Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Oregon. Based on a post he made to X, he is intending to be in Gainesville this weekend and Florida's running back coach Jabbar Juluke was on campus recently at Shaker Heights High meeting with McNutt's teammate Cornell Beard, a top rated running back himself.
We're going to put the odds of Florida landing McNutt as low, but with a solid visit this weekend one never knows.
