Florida Football Recruiting: Zay Mincey

With the flip of Xavier Filsaime to Texas complete, the focus for the Gators turns to highly regarded safety Zay Mincey out of Daytona Beach.

The teammate of Gator commit LJ McCray, Mincey took an official visit to Gainesville back in June, and 247 Sports gave a crystal ball prediction at the time that Mincey would be a Gator.

Since then, things have been mostly quiet around the Mincey camp. He did visit the Swamp back in November when Florida played Arkansas, but Alabama, Miami, and FSU are all also in hot pursuit of the 4th best safety in the nation, according to the 247 Composite.

Landing Mincey would help diminish the blow of losing Filsaime significantly.
