Florida football recruiting: No. 1 2025 RB Harlem Berry set to announce his commitment today
By Will Thomas
Florida football recruiting somewhat limped across the finish line with their 2024 class, losing several commits during the Early Signing Period and dropping out of the top ten rankings.
Now, Billy Napier has no choice but to look forward to the 2025 class and try to prevent the same issues from happening yet again.
He has a chance today to shock the recruiting world and give a jolt to Florida recruiting, as well as get some skeptical fans back on his side.
The top running back and No. 11 overall player in the 2025 class, Harlem Berry, is set to announce his commitment today.
Florida football recruiting: Try to swoop in
For those who have been following Harlem's recruitment, it's no secret that LSU has been, and still is the team to beat for his commitment.
Berry plays his high school ball in Metairie, Louisiana, and On3's RPM gives the Tigers a 98.7% chance to land him.
But all hope isn't lost for Florida. Berry's uncle, Jabbar Juluke, is the Gators' running backs coach, and Berry has been vocal about how he has a strong relationship with Juluke.
Harlem has taken two visits to Gainesville, first in June of 2022 and most recently in June of 2023. He hasn't taken any official visits anywhere yet.
During this season, Berry ran for 805 yards and 16 touchdowns over a four-game span. That's the kind of difference-maker that he is for an offense.
Now it's definitely a long shot, and by no means are the Gators the favorite for when Berry announces his commitment today. But in this era of NIL, you never know what can happen in the final hours of a recruitment.
