Last recruiting cycle, Florida Football was in line to land one of the top safeties from the class only to have it fall apart at the last minute.

Undeterred, the Gators are after another top safety from the class of 2025, this time an instate prospect that checks a ton of boxes.

Florida Football: Hylton Inn

Hylton Stubbs is a safety listed at 6'2" and 180 pounds. The consensus four-star prospect out of Jacksonville made it the the 4M state title game with Mandarin High last season. Rivals is the highest on Stubbs, rankings him 44th overall while ESPN has him the lowest at 113th.

The general vibe of a top 75 prospect checks out on film as Stubbs has great instincts for the position and does a great job at reading the eyes of a QB. Even when a receiver is on the other side of the field, Stubbs is often able to make the read and scurry over to either disrupt the play or intercept it altogether.

He's not afraid to be physical though. When given the chance to lay the boom, Stubbs will take that opportunity. And he isn't just a back end ball hawk, as he can burst into the backfield when tasked with a blitz and is a sure handed tackler.

As his recruiting is heating up, Florida appears to be in the lead for him. Both On3 and 247 have predictions that put the Gators as the first choice for Stubbs. FSU and Miami are also in pursuit.
