Florida Football has added a handful of certified track speedsters over the last couple of seasons, with the addition of Aidan Mizell, Tre Wilson, and Tank Hawkins in the past couple of classes.

Florida is now in pursuit of another certified speedster that plays even faster on film than what his track times indicate.

Florida Football: The Need For Speed

Girard Pringle is a running back out of Armwood High in Seffner, just outside of Tampa. Listed at 5'10" and 185 pounds, Pringle is considered a top 100 overall prospect by On3, while 247 and Rivals have him as a three-star and ESPN has him unrated.

Based on film, it feels criminal that all four services don't have him at least as a top 200 guy because he spends 12 minutes in his junior season film running away from guys and not letting anyone catch him.

Pringle has the type of speed that jumps out immediately on film and even when defenses do try and wrap up, he also has a little bit of power that makes him tough to bring down.

He has a verified PR in the 100 meter dash of 10.89 seconds, but feels like a guy who should be capable of running somewhere in the 10.6 second range.

Despite the lower star rating by the recruiting services, college coaches are all over Pringle. He has offers from Alabama, Miami, Georgia, Auburn, and Tennessee among others.

He was offered by Florida and while Alabama has the early jump in his recruitment there are no formal predictions yet of where he will land.

If fans are looking for guys with speed to burn on the football field, Pringle is going to be one to keep an eye on and hope he lands in Gainesville.
