Florida Football has had their eyes on a number of class of 2026 QBs as Billy Napier and crew look to already plan ahead for the day that DJ Lagway hopefully departs for the NFL.

The Gators are slated to get a visit from one of the top prospects from this class later this month.

Florida Football: Brady Bunch

Brady Smigiel is a quarterback listed at 6"5" and 205 pounds, according to his Hudl page, out of Newbury Park, CA, on the outskirts of Los Angeles.

While class of 2026 rankings are still building across all the major websites, he is ranked as the 2nd best QB in the country by 247 Sports and is ranked 13th overall by Rivals.

On film, it is easy to see why he is drawing such high praise after his sophomore year in high school. Smigiel has the arm strength to get the ball 50 yards downfield even when being hit, can make throws on the run and throw from multiple angles, but doesn't have the feeling of someone with happy feet looking to run at the first opportunity he gets.

Smigiel racked up 52 touchdowns last season and while his receivers were of a high level as well, Smigiel did great to fit the ball into tight windows and hitting his guys in stride to allow for these touchdowns.

It is still early and there is no formal prediction out for who he will choose. Smigiel is slated to visit Florida on March 29. He will also visit Miami, FSU, and Washington.

Florida is continuing to kick the tires on Ryder Lyons and Noah Grubbs from the class of 2026, so it is still unclear who Napier and crew will prioritize to after. If steam does pick up on Smigiel, he will be a good one to go after.
