As we chronicled earlier this week when profiling Hayden Bradley, tight end has been a point of consternation for Florida Football since the departure of Kyle Pitts.

Another tight end on Florida's radar has lined up some official visits and is slated to be in Gainesville this summer.

Florida Football: California Love

AJ la is a tight end listed at listed at 6'6" and 240 pounds. From Orange, CA, a suburb of Anaheim, He is considered a four-star by On3, ranked 119th overall, while 247, ESPN, and Rivals all have him as a three-star.

On film there is enough there to justify a lower four-star rating, just not quite as high as On3 has him. The caveat to his eval is that he was fighting off an ankle sprain all season, which limited some of his burst off the line. But once in motion la is athletic and a matchup problem for other teams to deal with. He seems to have a good understanding of when to peel off routes and sit in space, but when asked to go downfield he will find the seam with ease.

His blocking could be a bit better, but it is solid given he is more of a pass catching tight end.

la confirmed with 247 and with On3 that he plans to make his circuit of official visits soon and will be in Gainesville at the end of May.

There is a lot to like with la and if he can stay healthy we could see him as a player who starts to shoot up the rankings. Whether or not Florida is able to stay in the running remains to be seen as la will also take visits to Arizona State, SMU, Auburn, Kansas, and Washington.
