As it stands right now, Florida Football doesn't have a single player on its roster from the state of Indiana.

That didn't stop defensive backs coach Will Harris from offering a four-star prospect out of the Hoosier State this week.

Florida Football: The Hoosier State

Mark Zackery is a defensive back from Indianapolis. Listed at 6'0" and 160 pounds, Zackery is a four-star prospect with all four recruiting services, though 247 has him ranked in the top 100 overall while On3 and ESPN have him outside their top 200.

Based on film, we would probably agree closer to the On3 and ESPN evaluation. Zackery will play a combination of press coverage and inside technique for Ben Davis High. Given his size, he doesn't overpower opposing wide receivers when in press coverage but he is able to stick to them like glue.

When playing off coverage, Zackery maintains fluidity in his hips and does well to break on the ball when needed. He is a willing tackler, though the bulk of his tackles are diving ankle tackles, something that won't always work in the SEC.

He is also an accomplished basketball player, winning the state title in 2023 and scoring 16 points in the title game.

Zackery has a list of offers that includes Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Oregon.

Florida has been after a number of defensive backs recently so we will see how heavily Florida continues after Zackery. On3 currently has Notre Dame as the favorite, and he did stop by their campus for an unofficial visit recently. But he has yet to take his official visits, so anything is possible.
