One of the transfers Florida Football grabbed during the 2024 offseason was George Gumbs. The defensive end is from Chicago and is one of just two players on Florida's 2024 roster from Illinois.

The Gators are attempting to go back to the Windy City and have offered a class of 2026 defensive lineman from the area.

Florida Football: Keeping Up With The Jones

Braeden Jones is a defensive end listed at 6'4" and 245 pounds. The class of 2026 prospect is listed at a three-star by On3 and Rivals and is ungraded by ESPN and 247.

On film there is no denying the length that Jones posses. In time, can easily match the size of all the EDGE rushers listed on Florida's roster. He faces a number of double teams and still finds ways to fight his way through to make plays and fill gaps.

His three star rating is probably fair for now as Jones will need to have a few more explosive plays on film to earn a fourth-star, though we also see him as the type of player capable of doing well in a camp setting given his length, which could also bump him up.

Florida joins Auburn, Notre Dame, and Wisconsin as notable schools to offer Jones to this point. Jones was on campus recently and announced his offer yesterday.
