In the world of recruiting, nothing is over until it is over Florida Football. Last year it felt like every week there was something revolved around Florida's pursuit of Jeremiah Smith, which ultimately went nowhere and Smith kept his commitment to Ohio State.
So even though Florida was left out of the top five schools from class of 2025 five-star DJ Pickett, it now appears that Billy Napier and crew will at least get an official visit from Pickett.
Florida Football: Go DJ
Pickett is listed at 6'3" and 175 pounds out of Zephyrhills.
His work as a wide receiver is confirmation that Pickett has speed that translates to the field. On the track, Pickett sports a PR in the 100 meter dash of 10.62. His current season best in the 2024 season of 10.84, 4th best in Florida for class 3A and 16th best in the entire state regardless of classification.
Back in early February, Pickett dropped his top five schools and Florida was not on the list.

But now according to a new report from Chad Simmons of On3, Pickett still has Florida on his radar and plans to take an official visit down the road.

6'3" corners that can run 10.6 in the 100 as a sophomore in high school do not grow on trees. Jason Marshall is 6'1" and Devin Moore is the only corner Florida had in 2023 listed at 6'3".
We'll see how this plays out, but if defensive backs coach Will Harris can actually land Pickett, it would be a massive haul for Florida.
