One of the big gets for Florida Football in the class of 2024 was defensive lineman LJ McCray. He was a near consensus top ten prospect and Gator fans are excited for what the future holds for McCray.

For the class of 2025, Florida is currently in pursuit of a prospect that could arguably be even better than McCray and is currently in his top 12.

Florida Football: Get Out Of The Way

Elijah Griffin is a defensive lineman out of Savannah, GA. Listed at 6'5" and 285 pounds, Griffin is a consensus top ten prospect by all four major services.

On film, Griffin immediately pops off and backs up his lofty ranking. The explosiveness he has off the line is something we would expect to see from a 5'9" scat back, not a 6'5" defensive lineman. He seemingly has all the tools a coach would covet: speed, power, high motor, and size.

He also has dabbled in the shot put, earning an impressive mark of 51'10".

Florida is and isn't in the running for Griffin at the same time.

Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports has a crystal ball projection that Griffin goes to Georgia, and 91% of the time when Wiltfong makes a projection it becomes true.

But Griffin did drop his top 12 schools yesterday and Florida is still in the running, and as long as Gerald Chatman has his ear Florida has a chance.
