Florida Football Recruiting: DJ Lagway confirms he is locked in with Gators
Lately it has felt like the sky was falling for Florida football. Given the vast number of players to decommit from the program, it felt like it was easier to point out who was still with the Gators rather than who had left.
And while there is still work to be done to close out the 2024 class for Billy Napier, Gator fans got great news on Wednesday as five-star QB DJ Lagway confirmed he still plans to sign with the Gators next week on early signing day.
Florida Football: Go DJ, That's My DJ
It's rumor season and with the state of the Florida Gators in flux, other programs have been licking their chops to try and swipe the talent off of Florida's roster.
The latest rumor was that Texas A&M and new head coach Mike Elko were making a late push to try and flip Lagway.
VYPE Magazine indicated earlier this week that despite Lagway's commitment to the Gators since last December, the Aggies weren't out of the picture just yet.
Those rumors appear to have been shot down by none other than Lagway himself as he, along with a handful of other Gators, took to X to let the world know they are still locked in with the Gators.
Given the number of times Lagway has paid visit to Gainesville over the past year while not taking visits to other campuses should put any doubt to bed that Lagway is a threat to flip.
Of course we learned last year with Jaden Rashada that anything is possible in the world of modern day college football, but it would take a Hulk Hogan joining the NWO level of a heel turn at this point for Lagway to not wind up on campus and start practice with Florida football come 2024.
