Florida Football got some good news on Friday as three-star running back Chad Gasper announced his commitment to the Gators.

Gasper won't move the needle nationally surrounding the narrative for the Gators. Not yet at least.

Florida Football: All Gasper, No Brakes

Gasper is listed at 5'11" and 195 pounds. Rivals has him ranked as a four-star while the other three services have him as a three-star, with On3 grading him the lowest as the 68th best running back in the class of 2025.

His stat line from 2023 was solid, though nothing eye popping. He had 99 carries for 488 yards and 11 touchdowns. His junior highlight film is also only 1:33 long, so it's not unfair to grade him as a three-star right now.

But one thing we always say with recruits is do they have the one play on film that pops out and makes one go "Yep, that's why Billy Napier went and grabbed him," and Gasper has the play.

His opening clip sees him burst through the hole where he is greeted by the opposing safety. Gasper trucks him over and gallops the remaining 10 yards for the touchdown.

And the clips he does have showcase a player who has good speed and doesn't have a ton of wasted motion in hitting the hole.

Gasper isn't the type of prospect who is going to strike fear in opposing fanbases just yet. But given the set up of Florida's running back room he is not a bad back to take. Heading into 2025 the Gators will have, in theory, Treyaun Webb, Jaden Baugh, KD Daniels, and fellow 2025 commit Waltez Clark (who just ran 10.77 in the 100 meter dash). Given that room, Gasper should have time to develop and see if he can emerge as a productive back in Gainesville.
