One of the sagas for Florida Football last season was the ongoing pursuit of Jeremiah Smith. The wide receiver committed to Ohio State, then made a bunch of stops in Gainesville, only to stick with his decision to head up to Columbus.

Gator fans hope to not have a repeat saga this go around as Florida has a visit locked in with one of the top receivers from the 2025 class.

Florida Football: Recruiting Season:

We profiled Caleb Cunningham back in February and highlighted why he is one of the top wide receivers in the class of 2025. All four major services have Cunningham as a top 25 overall prospect. At the time we said:

"His film backs up the lofty ranking as Cunningham is a menace on the field. Given his size, he can rise up and make almost any catch thrown his way. He can go over a defensive back, toe-touch the sideline, or leap backward and land on his back.

But he also processes a run after catch ability that is also top tier. Screen plays turn into touchdowns with ease and he feels like a nightmare to try and bring down. He has participated in track with respectable marks in the jumps, including a 43 foot triple jump as a freshmen."

The Mississippi native has plenty of projections that would keep him home. On3 has Mississippi State has a heavy favorite while 247 also has Ole Miss in the running.

Yet neither of those schools are among the four Cunningham has an official visit lined up with in June. He tweeted out last week a confirmation that he will be coming to Gainesville on June 7 for his official visit. He also has visits lined up with Auburn, Alabama, and Tennessee. He has also made stops at FSU.

Cunningham would be a massive get for the Gators and could go a long way in starting pipeline back up of top tier receivers coming to Florida. But right now it is anyone's guess where he is going to land and the odds for the Gators are not favorable at the time.
