Two months ago, Florida Football picked up a nice surprise when four-star offensive lineman Peyton Joseph announced his commitment to the Gators. The Georgia native chose Florida over FSU, Tennessee, LSU, and Miami and was a player we here at Hail Florida Hail really liked.

Alas, it wasn't meant to be as 60 days after his commitment, Joseph is back on the market and appears to be heading to the Neighbors to the West.

Florida Football: Hardly Got To Know You

We have profiled Joseph a couple of times on this site and liked what we saw on film. When he reviewed his sophomore tape back in April of 2023, we said:

"His tape, however, showcases a player that isn’t afraid to get dirty and isn’t afraid of contact. Right off the bat, Joseph helps out with one block on the inside before turning his hip and leveling a guy on the outside to the ground.

He stays low and never stops looking for someone to block. Joseph frequently pancakes a guy and continues up field, looking for the next guy."

We looked at Joseph again in January after his junior tape and said:

"On film, it is easy to see why he is considered the 5th best interior lineman in that same composite. He fires off the ball and explodes into guys with the viciousness that one expects to see from a four-star lineman.

He seeks contact why he pulls as a guard and has plenty of clips showcasing his ability to hold up in pass coverage."

But after Joseph committed to Florida on February 18, he was seen far more often on the campus of FSU than he was on the campus of Florida. Part of it is because his cousin, TJ Ferguson, is an offensive lineman with the Seminoles and Joseph admitted in interviews there was a heavy push to flip.

While his flip to FSU isn't official, multiple crystal ball projections from 247 Sports have him heading to Tallahassee.
