Unlike the class of 2024, Florida Football has yet to see a wave of commits roll in for their class of 2025. The Gators are one of only two squads in the SEC who have single digit commits as of now for their class of 2025.

But the Gators did get some positive news for their class as they picked up a tight end commit on Friday that they had been pursuing for quite some time.

Florida Football: Mr. Jones

Micah Jones is listed at 6'5" and 245 pounds out of Madison, MS. All four services have him listed as a three star prospect and his composite on 247 is 556th in the country.

On film this is probably a fair grade. His size is his biggest attribute and he is one of the biggest tight ends in the class of 2025. He could show up on campus right now and wouldn't look out of place. He is hard to bring down and because of his size has a higher floor than most prospects at his position.

While he isn't afraid to use his size, he would need to flash a bit more dominance given his size to justify a four star ranking.

Florida originally offered Jones back in August of last year. Jones had Arkansas, LSU, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss as his finalists, along with Florida. He took visits to Florida, Arkansas, and Mississippi State and Florida felt like they were in the lead throughout to land him.

He is the sixth verbal commit for the Gators as part of the class of 2025, as Billy Napier is hoping to pick up a slew of other top ranked prospects. The Gators have been poking around at other tight ends, but Jones is one they have been high on throughout.
