Florida football offers top-40 overall player committed to FSU
By Will Thomas
Florida football recruiting always has its eyes down the road, looking into future classes to identify the players that they want to try and get an early start on.
One guy in the 2026 class that Billy Napier and the Gators offered today is an in-state product, and is currently committed to Florida State.
Efrem White, an athlete out of Vero Beach, is one of the highest-rated prospects so far in the 2026 class and has a newly minted offer from Gainesville.
All signs point to his recruitment being an in-state battle down to the finish line.
Florida football recruiting: Expect lots of change
When recruiting the 2026 class, it's important to know that what you see right now is not what you're going to get in two years when the player actually signs.
White is going to be an entirely different player by the time he gets to a college campus. He's 6'3'', but currently only weighs 150 pounds. That's going to climb a lot over the next two years and will have an impact on his game.
Now, that is not meant to sound like a negative. In just two years, White has already shown the potential to be one of the best players in the country.
On3's Industry Ranking has Efrem rated as the 34th-best player in the country, the third-best ATH in the class, and the fifth-best player coming out of Florida.
In his sophomore season, he caught 22 passes for 308 yards and two touchdowns, to go along with 14 tackles, a sack, and an interception.
White can do anything that is asked of him on the football field, and over the next two seasons, we'll see all of those numbers go through the roof.
Hopefully, Napier and the Gators can make an early impression on White and force a flip away from FSU.
