Florida football has put a major emphasis on recruiting the state of Texas under Billy Napier, and that hasn't changed at all as we get into the 2025 recruiting cycle.

The Gators have extended offers to some of Texas' best players, and are now in pursuit of a powerful offensive tackle as well.

Marcus Garcia, out of Denton, Texas, received an offer from the Gators last week and is now a name to watch on Florida's OL board.

The 4-star OL hasn't made a trip to Gainesville yet, but the Gators are in a good spot to become a factor in his recruitment.

Florida football: Sneaky power

Garcia currently stands at 6'5''-250, which is a little undersized for an SEC offensive tackle. But when you cut the tape and watch him block, he plays like a guy well over 300 pounds.

Marcus is explosive, and powers through opposing defenders almost every snap. He's able to drive his legs and move pass rushers and tacklers against their wills.

With his smaller frame, he's also very agile and quick in open space. He's very good at getting past the lineman in front of him on screen plays and getting downfield quickly. His combination of power and speed is something that gets college coaches very excited on tape.

On3's Industry Ranking has Garcia ranked as the 317th-best player in the country, the 22nd-best OL, and the 55th-best player coming out of Texas.

Currently, in-state TCU is the heavy favorite for Garcia, followed by SMU, Baylor, and Texas A&M. But with a fresh offer from the Gators and a visit likely down the road, Florida could very quickly become one of Marcus' top schools.
