The Swamp is in the top ten, but some of the other schools to make it are questionable

EA Sports College Football 25 is set to release next month and at least one thing Florida Football fans can count on is that The Swamp is going to have a significant home field advantage in the game. The video game will be utilizing a crowd noise feature to make places like Ben Hill Griffin Stadium difficult to play at for the visiting teams.

So while the Gators did make the top ten of toughest places in America to play, some of the other schools to make the list have fans across the country scratching their heads.

Florida Football: Won't Back Down

The Swamp came in at number ten on this list of "Toughest places to play" on a list released by EA Sports today. One could argue Florida should be higher, given that Florida still draws 93,000 fans even during a down year, but given Florida's record over the past few years it is understandable why EA put the Gators at 10th.

There are elements of this list where it feels like EA Sports just picked teams out of a hat/picked teams who just happen to be good. For example, very few people lay claim that FSU is a difficult place to play because of the crowd. They have a capacity of 79,000, but last season was the first time in a long time the Seminoles actually filled up Doak Campbell Stadium with consistency. Even in 2022 they were still drawing crowds under 60,000.

Camp Randall is another stadium that left may people going "Huh?!?" as being a tough place to play. Outside of playing "Jump Around" they aren't normally noted as a hostile crowd.

Even Alabama and Georgia being as high as they on the list feels like a byproduct of the teams being good and not as much about crowd noise. Nick Saban used to chide Crimson Tide fans for leaving early and not being totally invested in the game.

And if you think it's just me questioning this list, then don't take my word for it. Take the word of Ben Chase, who famously made to 77 different games during the 2022 season.

He now works for Florida, but let's say he is not a fan of the list either.
