The trailer for EA Sports College Football 25 dropped and soon Florida Football fans will have all sorts of excuses as to why they can't go to work or take care of other duties. The video games series hasn't had a new edition since 2013 and fans are reaching a fever pitch in anticipation.

The Gators made two prominent appearances in the official trailer and it is a reminder why the logo in Gainesville still holds weight around the country.

Florida Football: It's In The Game

Early in the trailer, Tyreak Sapp, among others, are seen touching the Gator head in the tunnel before heading out onto the field. Later, Florida's mascot Albert is seen doing the iconic Gator Chomp.

These features are not new to the series as NCAA 14 also had Florida touching the Gator head. But for a trailer that has been over a decade in the making, it's a big deal for Florida to pop up just 13 seconds into the trailer and as the fifth school featured.

Perhaps more significant is who didn't get featured in the trailer. FSU pops up one time with Hykeem Williams putting on a spin move. Miami shows up for a nanosecond with players giving The U sign. And our friends over at UCF were ignored, just like they were by the playoff committee in 2017.

Is any of this going to save Billy Napier and propel the Gators to a national title after going 11-14 the last two seasons? Of course not.

Florida has been bad on the field; there is no denying that. But the EA Sports College Football 25 trailer is emblematic of the fact that when Florida finally does get it together and can turn the ship around, the brand of the Gators carries far more weight and oomph behind it than most teams around the country.

Which is why if Florida goes 13-0, they don't have to worry about being left out of the playoffs unlike their Neighbors to the West.
