With the spring transfer portal over and the roster seemingly set for Florida Football, it's time to start wondering out loud who may or may not take the field as starters and backups on August 31 when the Gators take on Miami.

These are predictions based on observations and intuition, but are by no means anything set in stone for Billy Napier and his staff.

Quarterbacks

Starter:
- Graham Mertz

Backup:
- DJ Lagway

Picking the starting quarterback for the Miami game is probably the easiest call on this list. Graham Mertz is the entrenched starter, and barring injury or scandal, he will lead the Gators onto the field to start the season.

If one wants to get into a semantics debate, it wouldn't shock us if Clay Millen, the transfer from Colorado State, is listed on the depth chart as the backup simply because of his experience. But given that DJ Lagway was handed the reigns of the second-team offense in the spring game and played well, it feels like there is next to no chance he wouldn't be the guy Napier taps to go in if something were to happen to Mertz.
