Soon the puzzle pieces will be put into place for Florida Basketball as Todd Golden and crew scour the transfer portal to revamp the roster for 2024/25.

One of the bigger names to recently hit the portal is set to pay Gainesville a visit.

Florida Basketball: Big Man In The Middle

Oumar Ballo is a center listed at 7'0" and 260 pounds. He began his college career at Gonzaga before transferring to Arizona for the past three seasons.

Ballo is the spitting definition of a big man in the middle as 88% of his field goal attempts come at the rim. But given his size, he makes attacking the rim look effortless and he is not afraid to throw down with authority.

The real strength for Ballo, which would fit in great with Florida's offense, is his ability to win inside position on rebounds and last year he averaged 3.6 offensive rebounds per game to go along with 6.6 defensive rebounds per game.

But Ballo isn't just a sloth in the middle. Even when he is pulled out to above the free throw line on defense, he has the agility and movement to recover back to the rim or even step out and challenge shooters from time to time.

According to Joe Tipton of On3, Ballo will be taking visits to Indiana, Louisville, Kansas State, North Carolina, and Florida. He is ranked as the number two player in the transfer portal by On3, so it is going to be an interesting cat and mouse game to see how heavily Florida tries to pursue Ballo given his visit would be at the end of the month at the earliest and the Gators are already hosting transfer portal prospects on campus this weekend.
