The season is getting closer and closer for Florida baseball and the honors keep racking up for Gator star Jac Caglianone.
After being dubbed the preseason favorite for the Golden Spikes Award, Caglianone picked up another honor from the baseball community.
Florida Baseball: The Awards Keep Coming
Caglianone was dubbed the SEC Preseason Player of the Year by D1Baseball. The honor makes sense as Caglianone had a monster sophomore campaign that saw him breakout as a two-way star in college baseball.
Last season Caglianone hit a school record 33 home runs while batting .323 with 90 RBIs in just 71 games.
On the mound, Caglianone went 7-4 with a 4.34 ERA and 87 strikeouts over 74 innings pitched.
Opening day is February 16 when the Gators take on St. John's.
