Florida Baseball continues to search for midweek game solutions
If one is searching for the most unpredictable, and yet also the most predictable, team in all of college baseball, Florida Baseball might be a great place to start. The Gators have yet to drop a weekend three game series and knocked off LSU on the road over the weekend.
But last night the calendar read Tuesday, which is a problem for the Gators because they seem to not know how to play baseball on Tuesdays as they lost again last night to FSU 14-3 in Jacksonville.
Florida Baseball: Skip To The Good Part
You don't need us to tell you that it was the same old story for the Gators, head coach Kevin O'Sullivan said it himself in his post game press conference.
"It's kind of the same story that we've seen quite a bit this year. We gave up three in the first, but then we turn around and put together a really good inning in the bottom half of the first to tie it up, kind of get the momentum back. But, obviously, we didn't hit very well tonight."

And as part of that same old story, Florida still can't find a pitching solution for weekday games. Alex Philpott got the start and promptly five runs in 3.1 innings of work. Florida would go on to trot out four other pitchers who all worked at least one inning.
All four of them game up at least one run.
"Those are the roles we need to be able to establish and get to and be able to handle those situations. Like I said, we are not asking guys to go out there and get nine, 10, 12 outs. Just four outs and hand it off to the next guy."
- Kevin O'Sullivan
O'Sullivan hinted that going forward the Gators might switch up their practice routine to better prepare for these midweek games. The Gators have now lost their last four midweek games and have won a non-series game since beating Bethune-Cookman on February 28.
The Gators will resume what they are good at, series play, and will take on Mississippi State for a three game set this weekend.
