It's been a busy offseason for Florida Baseball. After making another deep run at the College World Series, Kevin O'Sullivan and crew have been busy hitting the transfer portal to load up for another run in 2025.

Yesterday, the Gators got word they would be adding another high-ceiling prospect from just down the road.

Florida Baseball: Bulls On Parade

Bobby Boser, a standout infielder from South Florida, has committed to the Florida Gators for his final year of collegiate eligibility. Boser confirmed the commitment on his Instagram page.

The 6-foot-1, 209-pound rising senior is recognized as a top-250 prospect for the upcoming MLB Draft. Despite a broken bone in his hand limiting him to just 34 games in his junior year, Boser showcased his talent with a .299 batting average, 12 home runs, and 32 RBIs.

Boser's journey to prominence began with a breakout sophomore year, where he posted a .323 batting average and led his team with 15 home runs, finishing with a 1.066 OPS. His defensive versatility has been a significant asset, having played at every infield position and even center field. This adaptability will be crucial as he joins the Gators, with his exact position yet to be determined. Boser's power and balance at the plate have drawn comparisons to MLB's Spencer Steer.

Boser's impact at South Florida was profound. In his junior year, despite missing a significant portion of the season, he led his team in home runs and earned a First Team All-AAC selection. His performance included hitting for the cycle, an achievement not seen at USF since 2004.

The Gators have added six players now from the transfer portal for their 2025 roster. Boser joins Miami infielder Blake Cyr, Clemson pitcher Billy Barlow, Jacksonville infielder Justin Nadeau, Stetson outfielder Kyle Jones, and Texas Tech infielder Landon Stripling as players to arrive in Gainesville via the portal. Florida also added pitchers Matthew Jenkins and Mason Laurito from the junior college ranks.
