Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Before Kevin O'Sullivan arrived and turned the Gators into the machine they are today, Florida was a frequent visitor to the NCAA Tournament but were far from a national power. The Gators made the College World Series in 1998, but had only advanced past the regional round once between 1999 and 2004.
