Devon Manuel for Kamryn Waites

Sticking with the right side of the offensive line, the Kamryn Waites experiment could not have gone more poorly on Saturday than even the most pessimistic fan envisioned. We had highlighted our concerns before the game with Waites, but we were even surprised by just how bad it went against Miami.

In reality, what is going to happen is Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson is going to get more snaps at right tackle before Devon Manuel is even considered. But it felt weird all camp that Manuel's name was seldom mentioned after he came to Gainesville from Arkansas with metrics that were on par, if not better, than what Austin Barber had last year.

Based on Saturday, leave Barber be at left tackle and let Crenshaw-Dickson and Manuel fight it out at right tackle.

Aidan Mizell for Chimere Dike

We had written our doomsday predictions that Florida's wide receivers were still a question mark heading into 2024. One of the things we highlighted was that transfer Chimere Dike had a reception rate 11% points lower in 2022 working with Graham Mertz than what Ricky Pearsall had last year.

Combined with the disastrous 2023 campaign Dike had trying to play out wide at Wisconsin instead of the slot, and we were never sold on Dike.

His end product on Saturday was two targets for one catch.

When Aidan Mizell originally committed to Florida, he was more heralded than Tre Wilson. An injury his senior year of high school took some of the shine off, but Mizell has speed to burn and has flashed in both spring games he has played in.

He got 13 snaps against Miami, so we know Napier has him in the mix. We would like to see him more in the mix.
