Five moments from Florida Football's 2023 campaign that need to be cleaned up in 2024

We all remember the big moments that led to Florida's downfall in 2023, but there were a handful of other moments that loomed just as large.

Ten Lords A Leaping

Florida never had a shot against Kentucky, and it looked like they wanted to be anywhere else on the planet than Lexington as the Wildcats beat them down.

Down 10-0 and hanging on by a thread, the defense forced a three-and-out and were bound to get solid field position to try and get something going as Kentucky punted from their 10-yard line.

Except Dijon Johnson was called for a leaping penalty, giving Kentucky the ball right back. On the next play Ray Davis ran 75-yards to make it 16-0 and that was that.

Backbreaking plays like that can't happen if Florida wants to improve in 2024.

Dont Give Up Scoop And Scores

We here at Hail Florida Hail have harped all offseason about how the final sequence in regulation against Arkansas went down. Trying to set up for a game-winning field goal, the Gators looked lost on when they were supposed to send out their unit.

That moment alone is when we started to cast our personal doubts on Napier, but there was a moment from earlier in the game that was equally backbreaking.

Florida had given up a touchdown on their first defensive drive but appeared to be in position to start a drive to respond after completing a pass to Ricky Pearsall.

Except Pearsall was stripped, and Arkansas took it back for a touchdown. We love Pearsall, and he will go down as a Gator great, but this moment can't happen in 2024.
