We all remember the big moments that led to Florida's downfall in 2023, but there were a handful of other moments that loomed just as large.

If one were to look back through the 2023 season and the reasons why Florida Football went 5-7, there are the key moments that everyone remembers: Two players wearing the same number, not knowing when to send the field goal unit out, 4th and 17, and the failed double reverse flea flicker.

But hidden beyond those plays were a handful of other moments that were just as prevalent in Florida's downfall in 2023. The following are five plays that need to be cleaned up in 2024 if the Gators plan on taking a step forward.

Not Scoring From Inside The 10 Against Utah

The season opener against Utah is mostly remembered for being an error-filled slog, with the infamous illegal substitution penalty acting as a precursor of what was to come in 2023.

But the drive just before Utah went up 14-3 was just as bad for the Gators. Down 7-3, Florida was driving and had the ball on the nine-yard line, facing 4th and 1. Damieon George was hit with a false start as Florida was lining up to go for it, and Adam Mihalek missed the ensuing 31-yard field goal.

Had Florida scored a touchdown here and not sent two guys out with the same number, the Gators would have had a 10-7 lead with the ball. At the worst, Florida should have pulled within a point. In 2024, the Gators can not have trips inside the ten-yard line end empty-handed.
