Five members of Florida Football who could hold their own in other Olympic sports
Tank Hawkins - 100 Meter Dash
This is cheating a little bit since this is an event that Tank Hawkins competed in when he was in high school.
Now Hawkins would not medal at the Olympics nor would he even come close to getting a spot on Team USA, but this is a list of who could hold their own and if Hawkins were to compete for a different country he could absolutely finish mid pack.
He ran 10.37 seconds in the event as a junior in high school. At the Tokyo Olympics, 10.63 seconds was good enough to make it out of the first round, and he would have finished 5th or 6th in a nine-man heat during the quarterfinal round.
Joey Slackman - Wrestling
Our final entry to this list also has previous experience in the actual sport we think they could hold their own in. When he was in high school, Slackman was a highly regarded wrestler who was considered to be among the top 20 in the country within his weight class.
Much like Hawkins, Slackman would have no shot of making Team USA. But we would have to imagine the multiple stages of wrestling in the Olympics combined with some weaker opponents in the early rounds, Slackman could win a match or two if he were given a favorable draw.
