Billy Napier Will Cost Florida A Game

If you have read our content over the past couple of seasons, we were on the stay patient with Napier bandwagon for the first year and a half of his tenure.

That all changed with the field goal sequence against Arkansas. It doesn't matter if you have a squad of JV backups; they should know when to run onto the field for a field goal if the coaching staff is locked in and organized.

We aren't going to run through all of Napier's greatest hits of errors, as most fans know them by heart by now, but we are going to highlight one of our chief concerns heading into 2024.

Because of Napier's insistence on being the offensive coordinator, game management elements have been neglected over the past two seasons. He is so focused on calling the next play that he forgets to take a survey of the game as a whole and plan things out multiple plays ahead.

Whether it's being too conservative going into halftime, the disorganization on special teams, or the reliance on throwing a screen because he doesn't know what else to call, there is this sinking feeling that something is going to happen that falls squarely on the shoulders of Napier that will once again cost the Gators a game they should have won.
