Five coaches Billy Napier is still a better option than for the Gators in 2024

Just remember, it could always be worse

Speaking of a place where a Beamer used to roam, you ever look over at Virginia Tech and say to yourself "Damn, homie. In high school you was the man, homie, the hell happened to you?"

Brent Pry comes from the James Franklin coaching tree and took over for Justin Fuente. In his two years at Virginia Tech has managed fewer wins than Napier with a record of 10-14.

Now one may go "But Ben, they were 3-9 in 2022 and were better last year at 7-6. He is showing signs of improvement."

Have you actually taken a peek at who those seven wins were over? Better yet, did you take a peek at the three game stretch the Hokies had in 2023 where they lost to Purdue, Rutgers, and Marshall? Purdue was 4-8 last year and lost to Nebraska, and they still beat Pry and his Hokies.

Plus the logo for Virginia Tech still has value (they have played in a national title game more recently than Tennessee), but the Hokies are still bottom half in recruiting in the ACC under Pry.
