Five coaches Billy Napier is still a better option than for the Gators in 2024

Just remember, it could always be worse

2. Shane Beamer - South Carolina

Despite having never been an offensive or defensive coordinator his entire coaching career, South Carolina handed Shane Beamer the keys to Columbia in 2021. Following in the footsteps of Will Muschamp, Beamer hasn't exactly lit the college football world on fire with his first ever head coaching job.

After a somewhat promising 2021 campaign that saw South Carolina go 7-6 and an even better 2022 that had them go 8-5, the Gamecocks took a major step back in 2023 after going 5-7.

More alarming is after a respectable recruiting class of 2023, South Carolina tumbled to the 5th worst class of 2024 in the SEC and aren't much better for their class of 2025.

Beyond Beamer going on weird tirades at his press conferences where he blames everyone but himself, it is amusing when various lists come out ranking SEC coaches and Beamer is put ahead of Napier considering Napier is 2-0 against Beamer.
