Opening night didn't go great for Florida Baseball. The Gators lost 9-5 to St. John's after a sluggish opening start from Cade Fisher. Florida was unable to avenge the loss as both their Saturday and Sunday games were rained out.

So while the Gators are officially winless and it has opened the door for plenty of troll jobs, the official baseball rankings don't seem too panicked after one game.

Florida Baseball: Just One Game

It is safe to say that the baseball team for St. John's is in a better mood than the basketball team. The Red Storm waited until the safety of the weekend being cancelled to take to X to brag about their Friday night win.

But this is baseball and it is a long season, so making any wide sweeping changes to whatever one assumed would happen this season isn't healthy for anyone. Arkansas, Vanderbilt, NC State, Texas and Coastal Carolina all had losses as well over the weekend for those keeping score.

As such, Florida still clocks in ranked 4th in the D1Baseball national poll.

The loss combined with the cancelled games do put some pressure on Florida this week to some through with a solid stretch. Florida will take on UNF for a pair of games on Tuesday and Wednesday before hosting Columbia for a set of games over the weekend.
