They say to keep your friends close but your enemies closer and that saying rang true for Florida Football fans on Saturday as they watched their Neighbors to the West fly all the way to Ireland just to lose to Georgia Tech.
We chronicled yesterday how we were told how great FSU was going to be heading into the game, but even in the aftermath of the game, some prominent FSU fans can't help themselves from finding someone else to blame for their defeat.
Florida Football: 0-1
Browsing the message boards after a loss can be quite the experience and FSU fans were not in the mood to accept that their team was outright beat on the field.

Barstool Sports is what they are and oftentimes have the gimmick of being unabashed fans who say provocative things for the sake of saying provocative things.
But even the most unabashed fan needs to know when to take the L. That memo didn't make it to Barstool FSU.
Y’all ever had to throw footballs in a game while having jet lag after a plane ride around the world?

Didn’t think so
Right, because Georgia Tech didn't also have to fly on a plane to Ireland? Haynes King, who the vaunted FSU defensive line had zero answer for, is the same Haynes King that Florida shut down in 2022 when the Gators beat Texas A&M 41-24.
But it wasn't just Barstool. Former FSU QB turned pundit Danny Kanell has been filled with excuses all offseason as to why FSU was left out of the playoffs, and he took to X to complain about a perceived missed call towards the end of the game.
Whatever you do FSU fans do NOT blame the loss on the refs screwing up this call by not noticing the ball carrier clearly out of bounds which would have left probably 45 seconds on the clock for the Noles. pic.twitter.com/jo1uDeCGe2

To his credit, FSU coach Mike Norvell didn't take the bait on these low-hanging excuses in his post game press conference:
"I take full responsibility for all things that this team does, and I've got to make sure that I'm doing you a better job of helping prepare them"Mike Norvell
