It's a big weekend for Florida Football and their recruiting efforts as a number of high profile recruits are on campus for their official visit this weekend.

One particular player is an Auburn commit who the Gators are hoping to flip to Gainesville.

Florida Football: Flip This Way

Jakaleb Faulk is an EDGE listed at 6'3" and 225 pounds. Out of Highland Home, AL (south of Montgomery), Faulk is a top 50 prospect with 247, while On3, Rivals, and ESPN all have him in the range of 159th to 187th.

On film, there is no denying his size. He looks like a man among boys and looks like someone you would make as a create a player in Madden or EA Sports College Football 25. No one he goes against seems to have an answer for him as he overpowers his opponents with ease and ragdolls ball carriers to the ground when he gets his hands on them.

His play recognition is solid, and in their scouting report 247 notes his ability to "defeat blocks between the tackles."

But if we are being honest, that component doesn't really show up on film and there aren't a ton of examples of him shedding blocks to get to the ball carrier. Faulk mostly takes advantage of his athleticism to burst through gaps to blow up plays.

As such, the top 50 ranking from 247 is probably a bit high, and we would lean more towards a top 200 designation. That's not to say that, given his size and athleticism, he can't develop the needed technique to be a great EDGE in the SEC. That is why the Gators are still after him even though he committed to Auburn last August.

Faulk is in Gainesville this weekend on an official visit. According to his 247 profile he has subsequent visits lined up with Auburn and Alabama. The odds of flipping Faulk are probably low, but Napier wouldn't have him on campus this week if he wasn't still trying to pull off the flip.
